A Little About Me
I've worked as a professional artist for over 26 years. During that time I have specialized in using scratchboard to create my designs, drawings and paintings. My work has appeared in many galleries, art shows, festivals and fairs, garnering several awards. It is in public and private collections across the USA.
I am a proud member of Worldwide
Women Artists, an international collective of women artists showing and
selling our work online. To see more great original art, search WWAO on

A Little About My Work
I start each project with alot of research and sketching. Once I have the idea worked out, I create a preliminary drawing on tracing vellum. This drawing is transferred to the scratchboard. I work on a heavy weight board that is covered with white clay and black ink. Most of my work is done with an exacto blade. I work in layers of scratches (line and dots) across the whole board. Each layer adds more 'light' to the drawing. If I'm going to be adding color, I use opaque watercolors (also called gouache).
Purchase Information
Purchase of my artwork does not include the copyrights. The copyright notice on the images is for protection purposes only, it does not appear on the original art. The artwork that I sell online is unmatted and unframed. I ship ACEO's First Class Mail with Insurance. Multiple purchases and larger drawings are shipped Priority Mail.
Caring For My Artwork
Though I spray the finished pieces with a clear latex enamel matte finish, care should be taken not to touch the surface of the artwork, as the oils from our skin can stain it. I do cover the edges with an artist's black tape to hold on to. I suggest framing the black and white scratchboard drawings with a non-glare glass or plexi-glass, because the black surface is very reflective. I also suggest display lighting, as it enhances the viewing experience and brings the drawings to life.
